Argos Direct is the online division for the massive argos.co.uk superstores and retail outlets. It has over 750 stores in the UK as well as in Ireland and is generally found on almost every high street. The company was initially founded by the chap that had previously established Green Shield Stamps company. This became Argos with money transactions taking place rather than simply just the stamps.

With products ranging from clothing to camping equipment, electronics to toys and jewellery to furniture, there is lots of thing for everyone when you sit down and browse either their catalogue or their online site.

It was part of BAT Industries, as well as being acquired by the GUS plc company - big with cataglogues. Now it is part of the Home Retail Group since 2006.

At present there is a big rebranding going on with a new image for new stores and older stores getting a facelift.
